Begin an Investigation

1. On the Welcome page, go to the Top Menu Bar, click the ‘Investigations’ drop down menu and select ‘Browse Investigations’.

2. On the Resource Browser page, select an item by clicking the title (or thumbnail) from the list of available investigations to open its Detail Page.

3. On the Investigation Detail Page, click the blue ‘Begin this Investigation’ button on the bottom right of the page to begin the investigation.

Searching for an investigation

There are two ways to locate investigations. The first is through the ‘investigations’ drop down menu, the second is through the ‘Resources’ drop down menu, both of which are located in the Top Menu Bar. First, lets navigate through the ‘investigations’ drop down menu.

1. On the Welcome page, go to the Top Menu Bar, click the ‘investigations’ drop down menu and select ‘Browse investigations’.

Copy an Existing Investigation

1. On the Welcome page, go to the Top Menu Bar, click the ‘Investigations’ drop down menu and select ‘Browse Investigations’.

2. On the Resource Browser page, select an item by clicking the title (or thumbnail) from the list of available investigations to open its Detail Page.

3. On the investigation introduction page, click on the ‘Copy’ Action Button above the investigation to create a new instance, which you can edit and save.

Choosing Stations using the Data Product Browser

On the Create Visualization Instance page, click the ‘Load Data Browser’ button.

The Data Browser has three primary search sections. These include:
a. ‘Parameters’ The user can use the check boxes to select what parameters (data types) to search for from available networks.
b. ‘Networks’ The user can select which data networks to search.
c. ‘Data Range’ The user can select start and end dates for data to be plotted.
Once the criteria are specified, click the ‘search’ button to populate the map.

Searching for Visualizations

There are two ways to locate visualizations. The first is through the ‘Visualizations’ drop down menu, the second is through the ‘Resources’ drop down menu, both of which are located in the Top Menu Bar. First, lets navigate through the ‘Visualizations’ drop down menu.

On the Welcome page, go to the Top Menu Bar, click the ‘Visualizations’ drop down menu and select ‘Browse Visualizations’.

On the Resource Browser page, select an item (or thumbnail) from the list of available visualizations to open its Detail Page.

Copy an Existing Visualization

  1. On the Welcome page, go to the Top Menu Bar, click the ‘Visualizations’ drop down menu and select ‘Browse Visualizations’.
  2. On the Resource Browser page, select an item by clicking the title (or thumbnail) from the list of available visualizations to open its Detail Page.
  3. Click on the ‘Copy’ Action Button above the visualization to create a new instance, which you can edit and save.

Embed a Map in a Web Page [Not currently enabled]

  • Click on the hammer icon in the upper left corner of your map for a list of options, including "Embed Map."
  • Click on the "Embed Map" link In the pop up window, enter a map size (width and height).
  • The default, in pixels, is 600 wide (w) by 600 high (h), but this can be adjusted by typing in new dimensions.
  • Copy the code in the text box and insert it on your web document, between the body tags, at the location you want your map to display.
