Choosing Stations using the Data Product Browser

On the Create Visualization Instance page, click the ‘Load Data Browser’ button.

The Data Browser has three primary search sections. These include:
a. ‘Parameters’ The user can use the check boxes to select what parameters (data types) to search for from available networks.
b. ‘Networks’ The user can select which data networks to search.
c. ‘Data Range’ The user can select start and end dates for data to be plotted.
Once the criteria are specified, click the ‘search’ button to populate the map.

The map is now populated with circles containing total available sources that match the search criteria in geographically grouped regions. You can now click on a circle to continuously zoom into an area of interest and select a specific data source.

When clicking on a specific site (red dot) the ‘Station Details’ section is populated with information on what data types are available from that site. The user can click the blue ‘Add’ buttons to add that data type from that site to the list of data available to plot in the visualization tool. After clicking the blue ‘Add’ button, the data are shown in the bottom left under the ‘Selected Station List’ section. To make the data available to the plotting tool you must click the ‘Apply’ button in the bottom right of the tool.

You can now use the ‘Configure’ tab within the Create Visualization Instance page to select a date range, and then go to the ‘Preview’ tab to select the new site and new parameter to display in the visualization tool. The visualization can be saved using the ‘Save’ tab as previously explained.
