Customizable Visualization Tools

Interactive data visualizations are a great way to delve into rich datasets, like those from the OOI. Each of the visualization tools below was designed to provide easy access to a specific dataset, like glider profiles or mooring time series, with an educational goal in mind. To support your learning objectives, you can create and save customized versions of each tool, focusing on the datasets and timeframes you want to highlight.

To get started, first check out each tool’s preview to see what the end result will look like. Then, try customizing a tool with various datasets and settings. For example, you can create custom tool instances that explore seasonal changes in oceanic conditions over the course of a year, or investigate the environmental impacts of specific events like storms or hurricanes.

1) Single Time Series OOI

This tool allows you to create a quick timeseries graph of data from the Ocean Observatories Initiative.



Custom Bar Chart

This tool allows you to create an interactive bar chart of your own dataset in comma separated variable (CSV) format.



Custom Scatterplot

This tool allows you to create an interactive scatterplot of your own dataset in comma separated variable (CSV) format.



Custom Time Series

This tool allows you to create an interactive time series graph of your own dataset.



Double Time Series

This tool allows you to create an interactive time series graph of selected stations and variables from NDBC and CO-OPS. You can also customize the date range that is displayed.



Glider_Profile_Explorer

This tool allows you to create an interactive profile explorer, allowing you to navigate a time series of profiles from OOI glider datasets.



Single Time Series

This tool allows you to create an interactive time series graph of selected stations and variables from NDBC and CO-OPS. You can also customize the date range that is displayed.



Single Time Series with a Map

This tool allows you to create an interactive time series graph of selected stations and variables from NDBC and CO-OPS. The interactive tool also displays a map of all selected stations.
